About the Cruise

This cruise offers a rare chance to see one of Alaska’s most accessible glaciers up close, making it a must-do experience for visitors of all ages. The short, one-hour duration makes it easy to fit into any itinerary while still providing incredible views and a true taste of Alaska’s wild beauty. Five departure times are available every day, May 15th through September 16th, 2025.

Driving Directions

  1. Take the Seward Highway south from Anchorage
  2. Take a left on Portage Glacier Road (milepost 78.9) approximately 48 miles out of Anchorage
  3. Travel 5 miles to fork in road; take the right-hand fork and travel a 1/2 mile. Turn left at the Portage Glacier Café (401 Portage Lake Loop)
  4. Arrive at 1500 Byron Glacier Road, Girdwood AK 99587
